Assistant/Instructor training
Do you feel ready to become an IKO certified kitesurfing instructor or assistant?
Annually we hold IKO ATC (assistant) and ITC (instructor) courses that allow you to take this big step.
We remind you that you will have to demonstrate that you have reached level 4 ADVANCED in order to pass these courses which requires the mastery of:
- Basic jump
- Jibe
- Jump with grab
- Rescuing a rider
- Recovering a board
- Intentional kitesurfing signs
- Rules of precedence
- Equipment
- Weather and tides
- Aerodynamics
The next courses in 2024 for those who wish to follow the path for instructors / assistant instructors are:
- from 26/03/25 to 30/03/25 for the ASSISTANT course
- on n 31/03/25 for the first aid course
- rom 01/04/25 to 05/04/25 for the INSTRUCTOR course

NEW VIRTUAL IKO MEMBER CARD
Until April 2019, an IKO Member Card was issued at the end of each course given by an IKO centre. This card not only contained insurance, but also certified the skill level and improvements, from basic level up to independent level 3.
Thanks to this card, recognised in all the centres of the world, you could rent equipment and the schools or the instructor would know your level of skill.
Today everything has changed and the Card is now virtual, the vCard!
Well aware that technology is advancing and must be harnessed to make life easier for people, IKO has introduced a virtual card, the vCard! The vCard stores all the athlete’s data together!
The vCard is in fact a passport to your kiteboarding experiences and opportunities, worldwide. To realise the vCard, IKO created an app in which paper cards are converted into vCards.
